Turn Group vmail on via button?

Turn Group vmail on via button?

(OP)
Using IP Office 9.X

We have a main group with all of our exts in it (10-12) and they currently have a button tied to "set huntgroup OutofService" to activate the Out of Service condition on that Hunt group (200) and send calls out to a cell phone. Works great. They now want a button to send calls straight to Vmail on that Hunt Group. Can I put a 2nd button on the phones that sets Night Service on that Hunt Group and then directs it to vmail some how? Ive got that far and research isn't turning up anything specific. The Hunt group has vmail turned on and set to 45secs right now.

On a separate question: If the same hunt group has 10 people in it and ALL 10 turn on Do Not Disturb, where do the calls hitting that Hunt Group go? Straight to Vmail? Its on and set to 45sec wait till it goes there.

thanks to all..

RE: Turn Group vmail on via button?

Putting a hunt group into Night Service will send calls directly to VMail.

RE: Turn Group vmail on via button?

As TTT says. If the group has no Night Service destination set, then putting it into Night Service sends the groups calls to voicemail.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

RE: Turn Group vmail on via button?

If voicemail is enabled on that group, otherwise it will present busy tone.
If Voicemail is not desired when the group is in service then create a shortcode like

SC =*99<Groupnumber>
TN = "#"<groupnumber>
Action = Voicemail Collect
LineID = 0

And set the shortcode as the nightservice destination, leave VM disabled for the group.

RE: Turn Group vmail on via button?

or more simply Create an empty NS group with VM enabled
set that as the NS fallback destination.
Call will go to the main group VM

This will work on all software versions

RE: Turn Group vmail on via button?

Sure that works too but yet another group….
I prefer the shortcode.

RE: Turn Group vmail on via button?

but the short code does not work prior to V9.1 sad (not without even more faffing with groups & phantom users anyway)

RE: Turn Group vmail on via button?

I know, it is very hot here right now and i am too lazy to mention the solution on older software.
Plus 34 degree Celsius and no airco... only typing this makes me sweat

Thanks for the help all. Seems like the simplest thing is to put it into NS mode and let it go straight to Vmail. They didn't ask for a AA so I'm going to skip that for now.

On the 2nd question: If all the phones on that Hunt group were put on Do not Disturb what would happen? Its a question someone there asked me. I cant seem to see it addressed anywhere.

a lot will depend on the settings of the group
if queuing is enables it will queue until someone becomes available - possibly overflowing to the over flow groups if set
if VM is enabled it will eventually overflow to VM

if queuing is disabled, no Overflow groups & no VM then the caller will get engaged tone
