SpeedDial with pauses

SpeedDial with pauses

(OP)
Hi

Wanting to set up a Speed Dial. I've done it many times before as an ADL and had no issues. I need to create a pause after the dialed number and then have a 4-digit code automatically dialed. Seemed I used to be able to do this with a "**" but that doesn't seem to work now. Any insights are welcome. Thanks in advance.

RE: SpeedDial with pauses

Personal Speed Dial or system wide ? I also thought it could be done with an *

I should have been clearer. Setting up AutoDial on individual lines on a Nortel CS1000 system. Meridian phones - mixture of 2008, 2016, 3903, 3904. Again, I can set up the AutoDial fine but the pauses don't seem to pause correctly.

RE: SpeedDial with pauses

On a 39xx series the user guide says there is a pause key, might be a soft key that pops up

I think you're correct on the 39xx phones. You can change numbers at the phone. My challenge are the 26xx's. They are the vast majority.

RE: SpeedDial with pauses

If your calls are going out on a PRI then you won't be able to insert a pause. At least not using speed dial or autodial.
If you have some analog trunks then you can try sending the call that way.
PRI's want to see only a valid digit string, usually 7, 10 or 11 digits in North America. Too many digits or *'s and the call will be blocked.

RE: SpeedDial with pauses

not ideal, but setup one auto dial to dial the number, then setup a 2nd auto dial to dial the code.

RE: SpeedDial with pauses

I think you can insert pauses in the personal directory of a 3904 set that will work.
