How to create a remote backup

How to create a remote backup

How to create a remote backup

(OP)
Hello,

My company have a windows server on our main office then we're planning to create a backup outside our main office(outside the network)it is possible? If yest anyone can provide me a guideline or link how to setup this???

Thanks

RE: How to create a remote backup

Yes this is possible. Most companies do offsite backup to the cloud so their data is the safest. We used to use Carbonite before we had too much to back up then we went with a Barracuda Backup Solution. You can make a local backup and to the cloud.

If you are wanting to just do an offsite backup to another location that is pretty easy as well. We have a Site-to-Site VPN set up to our offsite location and just use server replication via HyperV Manager. And then we do hourly/daily backups to the cloud. If you are not using VMs you can always use a backup software that will backup over the network to backup to your offsite location. Or backup locally and then do an XCOPY of the backup data to the external site.

Learning - A never ending quest for knowledge usually attained by being thrown in a situation and told to fix it NOW.
