IPO SCN line connections do not all reconnect after system reboot

IPO SCN line connections do not all reconnect after system reboot

IPO SCN line connections do not all reconnect after system reboot

(OP)
There are four systems in our SCN. SystemA, SystemB and SystemC always reconnect to each other automatically when any of the three of them are rebooted (or lose power). SystemD will only reconnect to SystemB if it or any of the other systems are rebooted (or lose power). To get the SCN lines that are not connecting back up, in Manager either; 1. delete and recreate lines on both sides and save with a merge or 2. change the Line Number on both ends and save with a merge.

I believe I may have found a cause (or affect), but I can’t figure out how to fix it. If, in System Status/System/VoIP Trunks it displays an Address/Domain then it reconnects automatically, if the Address/Domain is blank it will not automatically reconnect and the line has to be deleted/recreated or changed to connect. Once connected the lines that will not reconnect still do not have an IP address in the Address/Domain field while they are connected and working.

Summary:
SystemA system line 17 going to SystemB has listed Address/Domain (reconnects), 18 going to SystemC has listed Address/Domain (reconnects), 19 going to SystemD does not have listed Address/Domain. SystemD doesn’t reconnect when the system is rebooted.
SystemB system line 17 going to SystemA has listed Address/Domain (reconnects), 18 going to SystemC has listed Address/Domain (reconnects), 19 going to SystemD has listed Address/Domain (reconnects). All come back up when rebooted.
SystemC system line 17 going to SystemA has listed Address/Domain (reconnects), 18 going to SystemB has listed Address/Domain (reconnects), 19 going to SystemD does not have listed Address/Domain. SystemD doesn’t reconnect when the system is rebooted.
SystemD system line 17 going to SystemA does not have listed Address/Domain, 18 going to SystemB has listed Address/Domain (reconnects), 19 going to SystemC does not have listed Address/Domain. SystemA and SystemC don’t reconnect when the system is rebooted.

Thanks Joe.
Changed one of the pair of lines that would not reconnect after reboot to WebSocket and it worked after reboot. I don't know why Proprietary works on four of the total six SCN connections including one out of the three on System D. They are all on the same release on the same MPLS lines. Changing the other SCN connection that does not reconnect after reboot to WebSocket to test.

RE: IPO SCN line connections do not all reconnect after system reboot

Websocket uses different ports to communicate then does the proprietary that is why it will work . This is a network/firewall issue if proprietary doesn't work.

RE: IPO SCN line connections do not all reconnect after system reboot

Web socket is recommended for 9.1 or higher

Where is it stated that Web socket is recommended for 9.1 or higher? I couldn't find anything referencing that.

RE: IPO SCN line connections do not all reconnect after system reboot

I was told directly by Avaya tech support tier 3 that it is recommended to use websocket. Soon it will not be an option from what I was told.

RE: IPO SCN line connections do not all reconnect after system reboot

sounds like the same issue I recently had, it ended up being a firewall issue, replaced it and haven't had an issue since

RE: IPO SCN line connections do not all reconnect after system reboot

teletechman is correct.
I was told by tier 3 that I must use web socket.
