VM Pro Issue

VM Pro Issue

VM Pro Issue

Have a customer who has a call center using VM Pro and the issue is that the call center closes at 18:00 they sometimes have calls still in the queue waiting to be answered and getting queuing messages. The customer has asked is there a way when calls are still queuing when the 18:00 close time appears that any calls still queuing can be automatically sent to a message saying we are now closed and to call back tomorrow.

RE: VM Pro Issue

It's perfectly possible to do by checking the time profile in the stillqueued entry point.

However, I ask is it the right thing to do?

appears that any calls still queuing can be automatically sent to a message saying we are now closed and to call back tomorrow.
This sends the wrong message to all caller - i.e. "we can't be bothered to answer you today, how bothered do you think we'll be tomorrow?"
You can bet I wouldn't call back tomorrow and I'd also bet I'm not the only one who'd take business elsewhere.

Much better to stop admitting new calls to the queue at say 17:45 and handle *all* calls that are queuing in the subsequent 15 minutes.

Take Care

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

RE: VM Pro Issue

great way to P**S of the customers who have been holding on for who knows how long.

what would you think if your local supermarket decided to shut the tills @ 16:00 on a Sunday & refuse to serve you even though you had already joined the Queue

I see matt has said the same thing (so star given)

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear
