Contact Recorder on IP Office 500v2

Contact Recorder on IP Office 500v2

I hope someone may be able to assist.

We are currently considering upgrading an IPO500 customer on R7 with contact store to a IPO500v2 on R10 with contact recorder.

Is the encoded wav format for calls recorded on contact recorder the same format for calls recorded on contact store?

I have a customer who likes to export them and add them to his own database.

RE: Contact Recorder on IP Office 500v2

This seems a bit of an insane idea (why by a dog & bark yourself?)
however I would think that exported files would be the same (are they not just a wav file)

RE: Contact Recorder on IP Office 500v2

Yes it does seem a bit daft.
The wav files are encoded and cannot be played by a bog standard media player.
We dont currently have any customer using Contact recorder so i am unable to get a recording to compare format properties.

RE: Contact Recorder on IP Office 500v2

if they cant be played by a standard player what does the customer do with them one they are in their own database?

if they cant play them then the encoding is pretty irrelevant.

I don't think a backup from contact store can be restored to call recorder (Not sure why they are basically the same application).

For test purposes why not simply install Server Edition in demo mode on a spare PC (or even use Virtual box to set one up in a VM)?
