Add drop button to Polycom 2490

Add drop button to Polycom 2490

We have a bunch of digital Polycom 2490's on our Avaya CM. someone wants us to add a drop button, but CM doesn't allow it for that type of set. has anyone ever been able to add this button while changing the station type and keeping all the functionalities? I'm tempted to change the phone type and get it to work but have never tried. thanks.

RE: Add drop button to Polycom 2490

I believe the drop key is native to digital sets. So, having a Polycom built around the guts of an old Avaya digital phone - which is what I'm seeing the 2490 as being - it needs a drop key on its own. 2400 series sets had them.

The doc says it's compatible with 64/74/8400 series digital despite being a "2400" model. A drop key is allowed on a 6400 set on the main 8 keys or the softkeys.

Try it as a 6408D+? I suppose it just depends on what the Polycom exposes as softkeys to you.

RE: Add drop button to Polycom 2490

i'll give it a shot, thanks.
