Javascript or C++?

I need to learn a more modern language to develop on both iPhone iOS and Android. Which is better and why? Please tell me of your experience(s).

Thank you.

RE: Javascript or C++?

Neither of the two you listed.

For iOS it is ObjectiveC

For Android it is Java (with a capital 'J') or Kotlin

Thanks for the kind reply. However I am a man of reason so I ask again, why?

RE: Javascript or C++?

I have no idea which is 'better' per se as that is a subjective term so only you can decide that, but from an objective point of view,;

Java is better for Android, while Obj..C is better for iOS.

However learning both "Obj.. C" and Java would be advantageous if you intend to target both operating systems. The semantics and structure of both languages are broadly similar so knowing either should make learning the other is relatively straightforward.

Apparently Apple Swift is the best one. Simplified Objective C with elements of Visual Basic object oriented programming.
