Partner messaging reinitialize password

Partner messaging reinitialize password

Partner messaging reinitialize password

Working with a avaya 308 processor(R6) and partner messaging card (539c11) with a 6 port card

Iam trying to reinitialize a couple of extensions VM passwords back to default and change the AA greeting, but when log into the VM(intercom 777), extension 0. I get into the administrative box, with options to change language prompt press 5 and to change the administrative password press 9 or pres *8 to go to another extension. Uselessly there a prompt to reinitialize the mailbox password and other options. Iam not sure if the partner messaging card is giving out or the 6 port card or if there is another way into the programming. Would appropriate any help, thanks.

RE: Partner messaging reinitialize password

Should be option 1 to change the System Administration Prompt Language, and 5 to change the Administrator Mailbox password. Option 9 for system programming is not announced. Once in System Programming, option 2 for mailboxes, mailbox number and #, then 3 to initialize (erase) the mailbox's password, or 4 to initialize the entire mailbox (erases all greetings, recordings, and password)

RE: Partner messaging reinitialize password

That's what I thought, but it does not give the other options only change admin password, change prompt language, or to go to a different mailbox and if try to push any other number it will not work.

RE: Partner messaging reinitialize password

To confirm, are the options 1 and 5, or 5 and 9? The part number you cited (539c11) is indeed a Partner Messaging R6, and you can't change the System Administrator's mailbox number like you could on Partner Mail.

Have you tried turning it off and back on? :)

RE: Partner messaging reinitialize password

Correction on options 1( not 9) and 5. Did not realize that I could not change the options like partner mail. How would I go about changing vm boxes passwords and changing AA recording through the phone programming as I do not have the software that came with system to use a pc for programming.

RE: Partner messaging reinitialize password

Well, if it won't let you dial 9 for system programming once you've logged into mailbox 0, you're stuck. Try dialing 7, which should confirm the release.

You can download the software, but it only runs on 32 bit, not 64.

RE: Partner messaging reinitialize password

Thanks for your help, dialing 9 worked and I was able to get into programming of the extensions and AA.Not sure why 9 did not work the first time I tried but its working now.
