CBWFQ on Cisco 3560e

CBWFQ on Cisco 3560e

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a solution to implement a CBWFQ QoS on, and I need to implement it on an egress 4Gbps bundled Giga-Ethernet in one port-channel

But I can't find a suitable platform or router that support such feature, any advise to choose a one ??

I had my research, and I had found a good platform for us, and it's Cisco ISR 3945 with an enhanced either-switch module (SM-D-ES3G-48-P), but I'm not sure that the SM-D Etherswitch would support such a feature,
does anyone have the answer if it can support such a scenario?

in the SM-D-ES3G-48-P Datasheet they say that it's identical to Cisco 3560e, SO IS the Cisco 3560e support such a feature ??

Thanks :).

RE: CBWFQ on Cisco 3560e

First of all, Cisco announced end of life for 3900 platform, so I would not standardize on those and use ISR4000 series instead. Second of all, you do not do CBWFQ on Etherswitch modules, but instead on the router itself. As for being "identical to 3560e" they probably meant that the router WITH the modules will have features identical to 3560e. If having Etherswitch mods in a router is your cup of tea, look at ISR4000 as I mentioned.

RE: CBWFQ on Cisco 3560e

Thank you for your reply :),

actually, I had searched again, nor 3900 or 4400 would work because we need a router that could do QoS CBWFQ and has at least 12 Gbps Port, I guess ASR 1000 could do the job, do you agree with my point that ASR 1000 is a suitable for this solution?

and Thank you.

RE: CBWFQ on Cisco 3560e

I have not worked with ASR so you may need to research that further. Just a quick note. When looking at maximum throughput of routers remember that Cisco defines that as the total of traffic, inbound, outbound and so for all interfaces.
