Is J9151A 10G Tranceiver compatible with HP3500 J9310A switch?

(OP)
Dear HP Gurus!

Before buying these expensive transceivers (J9151A) we made sure that it is compatible to our HP3500 switches (J9310A). According to HP documentations, yes it is compatible! However, when we plugged the transceivers to our switches, the log said it is incompatible. We were thinking if upgrading the firmware can fix the problem. We upgraded 1 switch to K16 and the problem is still there. Maybe it is really a system limitation they just forgot to update their documentation?

Regards,

MLGMARTIN

RE: Is J9151A 10G Tranceiver compatible with HP3500 J9310A switch?

Did you plug them into the SFP+ slots in the 3500 10Gb transceiver module?

They won't work in the 1G slots in the front of the switch.
