BDE error.... $2108

BDE error.... $2108

BDE error.... $2108

I am running an application developed n Delphi 7 Enterprise on a Win XP pc...

I get an error occur while attempting to initialize Borland Database engine. (Error $2108)

Can anyone tell me what it is, what may cause this and how I may fix it?

Thank you in advance!

RE: BDE error.... $2108

See this: http://www.willneumann.net/2008/09/configuring-bde...

In addition (referencing your other post), the BDE is seriously deprecated, along with the databases involved from Borland. You would do very well to not develop with it any further and look into more modern database systems.

RE: BDE error.... $2108

TY Greg,

Yes I do plan to do that for that very reason you mention... To date myself, I worked with dBase back in the late 80's thru 90's.... Totally agree about the deprecation factor. This fellow had paid a developer from India that used dBase as well as other misc Non-Delphi standard components.... As soon as i get this problem fixed, the upgrade will be my next strongly given piece of advice... Us dBade III developers are rare.... smile

So with that said... I have to fix the current problem of the BDE error... If anyone has ideas i can look at... please feel free to share...

RE: BDE error.... $2108

Did you even read the link that Glenn gave you?
It contains a full description + screenshots how to solve your problem...

RE: BDE error.... $2108

Yes I did read it.... It does have nice info... but it is for the BDE running under Windows 7.... this fellow's computer is older and running under WinXP......

So.... I need info regarding a pc running WinXP.... Thanks....
