Last cost not accurate on Kit Bills. What am I missing?

Last cost not accurate on Kit Bills. What am I missing?

When I run a production entry on a standard bill it updates last cost in inventory correctly. With kit bills we do not run production entry as we use the do not take from stock option in sales order and the items are generated as component items and removed inventory when we invoice. The kit bills never update in inventory. Is there something I can do besides running costed BOM for each kit and physically typing the value into last cost in IM.
Thnx in advance.

RE: Last cost not accurate on Kit Bills. What am I missing?

Kit Bills if used in Sales Order are not treated by the system as an actual item but as a way to list items that are sold at once. It assumes the Kit never goes through production. Therefore the Kit itself is not updated, just the component items.

Thnx Louie
I thought that was the the way it worked. So I guess the only way to update last cost is to run production entry or manually enter it from costed bill report.
Thnx Again
