Consideration for a future software update ...
Consideration for a future software update ...
(OP)
Hopefully someone from EMT support might see this and consider this option for a future software release. It's a very simple request (at least the request is, I'm not sure about the programming to make it happen!:)). My users constantly grip to me that they aren't reminded to change their "away" greeting when they return to the office and log in for voice messages. The recording "there is a temporary greeting..." is indeed there, but it doesn't get played until the user goes into the greeting area of their mailbox. Would it be possible to have this recording played immediately after a user logs into their mailbox? I know the old Norstar NAMs and the Avaya Partner Messaging module played the greeting at the very beginning upon login, and it was helpful to remind the user to switch back to their unavailable greeting. Not a huge big deal, but it would be great if it were given some consideration. It would make my users happy at least! :)
Continue to love our system ... so glad we made the switch!

I will also mention that Cisco Unity Voice Messaging doesn't show softkey prompts for voicemail either.

To enable a notification when the temporary greeting is in effect upon login to voicemail, do this:

You can use PBX - Tools - Configuration File Editor to open the file vm_general.inc - you should see the line "tempgreetwarn=yes" in there. The file on my system contains the following lines:
...
searchcontexts=no
sendvoicemail=yes
tempgreetwarn=yes
usedirectory=yes
...
If the line is present in the configuration file, login to mailbox with a temporary greeting enabled and then check the asterisk/full log file (under Support - System Log Files). When I login to my mailbox while the temporary greeting is on, I get the following prompts played:
....
-- Executing [*97@from-internal:107] VoiceMailMain("UCX/221@221-0", "221@default") in new stack
-- <UCX/221@221-0> Playing 'vm-password.slin' (language 'en')
-- <UCX/221@221-0> Playing 'vm-tempgreetactive.slin' (language 'en')
-- <UCX/221@221-0> Playing 'vm-youhave.slin' (language 'en')
-- <UCX/221@221-0> Playing 'vm-no.slin' (language 'en')
-- <UCX/221@221-0> Playing 'vm-messages.slin' (language 'en')
...
As you can see, the temporary greeting prompt is played right after the password is entered.

The tmpexists.slin plays only when I press 0 to get into mailbox options. Not sure why it doesn't work like yours! I am up-to-date on all software updates. Can I modify when that file plays manually?
