As the title states. I never noticed this until today when a co-worker complained about it. If you hit call history and pick up the receiver, it dials the number automatically. Any way to disable? Probably simple setting but couldn't find it in the phone or manager.

No, why are they doing that if they don't want to call the person? It's a feature that many people like, I've never heard anyone complain about it :-)

Most users go off hook and on hook again to leave a menu. That's why there is a phone button on every desk phone.

If they want to work that way then tell them to lift the handset first and then press the call history button. No need for yet another switch configuration setting.

In both ways of working, the key stage missing is they need to look at the display and choose the number to call.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

To their defence, to the untrained, "Phone" doesn't describe the function.
Return / Idle / Exit / Escape would have been more intuitive.

Kind regards

Gunnar

That's fine, Avaya in their infinite wisdom have started removing all the labels, so that issue will resolve itself :-)

So we can expect this in the future...

Yeah... The older models had the key labeled 'Phone/Exit', the newer just only 'Phone' and the newest only have a 'globalized' phone icon. Perhaps it would be better to make a stop sign at the button.

On the other hand I ask when the first customer will aka if he can write an email with the button that has a letter as icon........
