Upgrade ColorQube 8570 to 8870?

(OP)
Greetings. I'm unburying this question from the 8570/8870 ink discussion thread ...

I have an 8570 printer and just purchased an ink loader for the 8870. An 8870 configuration card is also on its way. These are the only two parts in the service manual that differ between the two printer models.

If I reset the NVRAM to factory defaults, shut down, install the 8870 ink loader and config card will the printer wake to be an 8870?
.
