VIO installation

(OP)
I am new to VIO and learning as fast as I can. I am trying to figure out how to install 2 vio server on P770 MMD server.
I was able to install one VIO server . however i can not install the second vio. It installed at same of disk0. what need
to be done in disks(server has 3 sas disks and two ordinary disks) before stalling the VIO?
Thanks all for any input

RE: VIO installation

To install more than one instance of VIOS you MUST have an HMC or an SDMC to carve up the box before the install. If you do not have an HMC or SDMC then the first install will take the whole system...

Input your machine type and serial number on this site and let us know the result for us to help you understand IF you can have more than one VIOS install..

Or you can decode the results on this page:

Or you can check your order with IBM, or your IBM business partner, to see what options you have - I hope whoever ordered or specified the system got it right!
