Hello all, and thank you in advance for your help!

We noticed that our Regeneration times have recently spiked up from around 43 minutes to now almost an hour and 10 minutes. This has happened over the last couple of months. We did all of the validation steps, and everything seems to be running normally.. just cannot figure out what is possibly making regen take so long now. Here is how its ran:

Formula used: A
Generate Pegging Information: Y
Subtract Safety Stock?: N
Purge Manually Entered MRP Transactions?: N
Reset Low Level Code?: N
Calculate Serial Lot Effectivity?: N
Use Scrap Factors?: N
Initialize MRP Regeneration Files?: Y

Purchase Orders P
Blanket P/O's N
Unreleased Purchase Orders N
Customer Orders C
Blankets N
Quotes N
Min Probability Code 1
Shop Orders N
Unreleased Shop Orders N
Repetitive Sched N
Unreleased Repetitive Sched N
Prod/Trial Shop Orders/Both B
Production Orders P
Unreleased Production Orders N
Firm Planned Orders M
Forecast Orders M
Approved IM Transfers N
Shipped IM Transfers N

Processing Low Level Codes, and Rebuilding Final Output Files seem to be taking way longer than they ever used to.

Also at the bottom it says:

Records Merged Into MRP Have an Invalid Date, Please Check The Shop Calendar.

Any info would be great!!!

Running on Server 2003 x86 4 gigs of RAM. Quad Core E5440 Intel Xeon.

RE: Macola Progression MRP Regeneration times

The merged records mean the there are records that pre-date the earliest date in your calendar, or post-date the last date in your calendar. A quick SQL query should find them.

Would that cause the increase in regeneration times?

RE: Macola Progression MRP Regeneration times

Probably not, but you should remove that from consideration first.

What version are you running? Pervasive or MS SQL?

Here is some "new" insight.. I decided to run regeneration on an old XP desktop, and guess what.. the regeneration was at 48 minutes. I don't know what could cause an XP machine to regenerate faster than a Windows 7 Pro box would.. they are both on the same switch and everything. Same anti-virus/malware protection as well. Am just confused now. lol!
