McAfee Security Scan Plus

I just downloaded some software that included McAfee Security Scan Plus. Supposedly it is free. I am wondering if I should just uninstall it? Is it any good?

I already use Avast Free and use AdwCleaner every week or so.

RE: McAfee Security Scan Plus

personally would stay with the Avast. Those that I run across with McAfee have it removed.

RE: McAfee Security Scan Plus

It doesn't actually replace your anti-virus, but...... Old news.

It's one of those bundled software titles that come with something else that you want. Mcafee pays to have it put in there. I would remove it and prevent it from installing the next time by unchecking the box at install time. It's always optional, it's just that people don't pay attention (next, next, ok, next).

I tell everyone to uncheck everything bundled because it's not part of what you actually want.
