Script to auto populate SO lines with UDF from Customer Maintenance

Script to auto populate SO lines with UDF from Customer Maintenance

(OP)
Hi all,

First, I'm new to scripting and although I've had some successful runs this one's giving me fits.

Using version 4.5 and I'm trying to pull a "GL_REFERENCE" UDF from the sales order header and have it auto populate the "LINE_REF" UDF on each line of sales order entry. Right now I've got this doing a post validation on the item code but can't get it to work. Anyone have any ideas? I'm really stuck!!

CODE -->

retVal = ""
glRef = ""
retVal = oHeaderObj.GetValue("UDF_GL_REFERENCE$", glRef)

if glRef <> "" then
retVal = oBusObj.SetValue("UDF_LINE_REF$", glRef)
End If

RE: Script to auto populate SO lines with UDF from Customer Maintenance

retVal should be initialized to 0, not to "".

Also you can do a MsgBox to see what the value of glRef is after you retrieve it from the header.
