I have a Primary and Secondary DL120 with 8.1 (96) on each. I have uploaded the holdmusic.wav 8khz 16bit mono to opt/ipoffice/tones/mohwavdir and saved the configuration. The file is only 80 seconds long or so but the damn IP Office will not upload it. I have tried to change the tftp server and manager IP address to my laptop that is on the same network and web browsed in. Still no go. Any Ideas ???

The documents state that if the Linux server cannot find the file thru TFTP then it will look in the following folder opt/ipoffice/tones/mohwavdir
Here is the exact verbiage
• File storage on Linux based systems
• On Linux based systems, if no successful TFTP download occurs, the system will automatically look for the files in opt/ipoffice/tones/mohwavdir.

OK here is how you do it.
Label the file HoldMusic.wav <-- Case sensitive
Put the file into the following folder. opt/ipoffice/system/primary
Restart he IP Office service.
Voila Hold Music
If you want to add additional .wav files you can name your files
HoldMusic1.wav
HoldMusic2.wav

PCambus - What do you mean by "saved the file"? I have tried using the embedded file manager. I upload my file holdmusic1.wav to the directory as stated on the document but when I dial *34 to listen to the music it only works for about 1 minute than goes back to the default "beep tone" I also tried using WinSCP3 to copy the music file directly to the folder on the server addition. However, I am not able to write to the folder as it is denied. According to the documentation in release 8.1 you should not have to reboot or restart the software to make a new music file work.
I need to load 4 different .wav files. The customer is also going to be changing the files often.

PCambus - What do you mean by "saved the file"? <-- Not sure I follow what you are asking.

The best way to get the file loaded onto the server is to use WINSCP or FILEZILLA. Login to the box using Administrator/Administrator then browse to the proper folder.(opt/ipoffice/system/primary) and upload the file to the folder.
Make sure the files are labeled correctly HoldMusic.wav, HoldMusic1.wav etc <-- this is case sensitive
Make sure that your files are the following properties as well. PCM, 8kHz 16-bit, mono, maximum length 90 seconds (30 seconds on non-IP500 systems, 600 seconds on Linux based systems).

I had used WinSCP3 and logged in as Administrator & Administrator but I was not allowed to write (copy) the file to the server hard drive. I would get an access denied error. Is there possibly another username or password I should try?

i have tried to do this a couple times now....i am using filezilla. in the status pane at the top is says Error:/opt/ipoffice/system/primary/HoldMusic.wav: open for write: permission denied. do i need to have a tftp server running? or is the server waiting for a reboot?
