So I swapped out a Partner 509 for a IPO Basic. The partner has a feature where when the hold timer expires it beeps the phone once, then the timer starts again
In IPO Basic when the hold timer expires, it rings the set continuously with a ring that sounds like a new call until answered. This customer is freaking out about this. Does anyone know of any options????

That's how it works on the basic mode (and IPO mode as well). When the hold timer is up, it rings the phone back that put that call on hold. The exception is if the user is on another call. It will wait until they disconnect the current call before transferring back out. You can increase the time before the call rings back, under advanced settings, but you cannot stop it from ringing.

FYI, by default the hold timeout is supposed to be set to 60 seconds, but every basic mode system I have put in had the hold timeout set at 15 seconds. These were defaulted/brand new units out of the box so I don't know if that is a glitch. I set them out to 120/180 in each site as even 60 seconds is pretty quick for a bounce back.

to appease the custome I went into admin programming and set the timer to 0. I didn't see where to do that in Manager so I did it through the TUI.

It's under advanced parameters. You have to unhide admin tasks through view first.

Spoke with Catalyst at length yesterday. It is, what it is. They have received other complaints. When the hold recall timer expires, the phone will ring. I have set the recall reminder to 0. I guess they will have to actually deal with their customer.
