This initial step has to be performed when the phone is in the boot sequence and it will restore phone back to factory default configuration. Buttons for the Polycom 335 are 1,3,5 and 7 simultaneously.
On powered up phone hold down a series of keys on the number pad depending on the phone model.

• IP 4000 and 6000: 6, 8 and * dial pad keys

Enter default password “456” and the phone restarts.

Enter the Phone Menu

Enter password 456

Give Phone Static IP Address (Skip to Step #4 is using DHCP)

Select DHCP Client by hitting the "sel" button on the Multi-Directional Keypad to the Right

Hit the Down Arrow Key on the Multi-Directional Keypad to the Right so that "disabled" appears

Setting Boot Server:

Go into "DHCP Menu:" and set the "Boot Server:" to "Static". Hit OK and then Back

Use Arrow Key to navigate to the Server menu

Press "sel" Button

Set Server type to "FTP" Hit OK

RE: Hey Curly, I got this config from M

Yes factory reset would have been the next step, unfortunately we have to advise on factory defaults a lot and on almost any system/set.
