Difference between who am i & whoami, part II

Difference between who am i & whoami, part II

Difference between who am i & whoami, part II

(OP)
Good Day,

I didn't get what elgrandeperro said a couple of years ago at http://tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1565223.

On a different server, I logged in as ddril00 and then did -

CODE

sudo su - es00as

Then I see the following -

CODE

[es00as@slvgdv70 scripts]$ whoami
es00as
[es00as@slvgdv70 scripts]$ who am i
[es00as@slvgdv70 scripts]$

Any idea why nothing is being returned?

Regards,
Dan

Because it's broken maybe? smile

What OS revision, sudo package, etc?

Are the users normal, local users?
