MANAGE GREEK CHARACTERS

Hello , How to manage Greek Characters in rmcobol85. when greek characters processed from input file it is stored as junk data in the cobol files and printed junk data. How to capture correctly ?

Thanks & Regards

RE: MANAGE GREEK CHARACTERS

Which platform are you running on (Op System, etc)?

How are the Greek characters getting into the file to be read by the COBOL program?

Is there some other code/process that successfully reads these Greek characters?

RE: MANAGE GREEK CHARACTERS

they are not 'junk' characters, they are the binary representation of the greek characters using a different code page to translate them.

Hello
It is AIX 5.3.3.0. Through terminfo.cfg rmcobol85 should handle with -c option. Recently O/S is upgraded to 5.3 from 4.3 since then the problem started. Whether terminfo.cfg is O/S level specific.

Thanks & Regards

RE: MANAGE GREEK CHARACTERS

that is a operating system level configuration most likely - if on application screen all looks as it should then look at codepage conversion on the AIX printer configuration - they do need to be setup correctly, and in some cases you need to manually add some configuration entries manually yourself
