Excel Exporting from Infoview taking longer time

Excel Exporting from Infoview taking longer time

Hi Friends,

I have an Issue....

I was trying to export the Crystal Reports data to Excel from Infoview. The issue was when i try to Export it, the Crystal Report is again running the Query and then it exports to Excel.

The Report is using Universe and its a Crosstab Report.

I Wonder why its running the second time just for the sake of Exporting to Excel. May be i dont know why its taking more time to export to Excel.

I am using BO XI 3.1

Please let me know how to resolve the issue.

RE: Excel Exporting from Infoview taking longer time

How do you know that it's running the query again?  Do you have any subreports in your report?

A computer only does what you actually told it to do - not what you thought you told it to do.

I dont have any Sub reports in the Report. When i export to Excel i see a Blue color status bar increasing in Infoview in the right hand side down.

I am just thinking its running the Report again. I might be wrong too.

And my Excel file is very small(20KB - 100KB).

RE: Excel Exporting from Infoview taking longer time

I don't think it's querying the database again - it's just the export engine doing its thing to translate the report into Excel and the bar is a visual cue that it's working.
