i'm trying to make a thermometer and i want to use a progress bar.
for visual effects i have 2 doubts:
1st- can i change the color of the bar from green to red? or even change its aspect at all?

2nd- can i write text over the progress bar?

RE: progress bar color

Have you tried the -style option:

-style {-background red}

RE: progress bar color

thanks for your reply bob...

i tried that and it says "Layout Vertical.-background red not found"

RE: progress bar color

Then I suppose ttk_progressbar doesn't support that option.

RE: progress bar color

hm ok thanks anyway.

but what about the text over it? is it impossible too?
couldnt we work around it and make a transparency label with no background and place it over the progress bar?

RE: progress bar color

It sounds possible.  I've never worked with the themed widgets so I really don't know how they behave.  Try it and see.
