Digit Conversion
Digit Conversion
(OP)
Hey all,
I want to convert digits that are dialed on our Definity G3si V8. I want customers to dial 4357 and have it convert to 4200. I've tried the ARS DIGIT-CONVERSION table, but can't seem to make it work. Any other ideas. If I forward the call, or create a coverage path on 4357 to go to 4200, if 4200 is off hook with 2 call-appearances, it rings busy rather than going to 4200's voicemail. Any ideas? Thanks

RE: Digit Conversion
Not sure if you are talking about calls originating internally or externally but you could try this if they are internal.
ch udp 4357 set to an unused aarcode say 234
change udp 4357 Page 2 of 2 SPE A
UNIFORM DIALING PLAN
Ext Codes: 435dd
Ext Code: 4xxxx Type: Ext Code: 43xxx Type:

This will convert the dialed aar string to your required number. assuming that you have UDP aar and ars truned on!
There is properly an easier way of doing it but off the top of my head you can do it this way.
Hope this helps
Good luck

I might be wrong but I don't think you can goto cover twice!
e.g. Hunt 4357->Cover to 4200->Cover to ?
Why? Well say I wanted my callers to my extension to cover to station 4350 after 2 rings and then after another 2 rings goto my voice mail, if the above Cover->Cover option was allowed then my callers would end up in the cover path of station 4350 which could be his Voicemail!
I tried the Terminating group and that will not follow the cover of 4200 either as it has its own cover path field.
You need to change the dialed digits of 4357 to 4200 with in the PBX to get the caller to follow the cover of 4200, this can be done using AAR Digit conversation as mentioned in my previous communication, would having a look at.
Hope this helps
