Limit rights to specific DataBases on a directory

Limit rights to specific DataBases on a directory

Hello all,
I need to limit a group of 8 users from sccessing two specific databases, in a directory with 20 other files, databases etc.  They need to see, use all other data in the directory except those two databases.

I don't want to make a whole separate group membership that just doesn't include those two databases, I am hoping to do it with rights, or blocking inherited rights on those two specific databases, for those specific users.  See the Db are useful for one crew to look at for certain data, but outdated info for the use that THESE 8 crew members would use --- telling them to simply not use the two data bases is too iffy, and untrackable -- and management wants certainty -- that they do not have access, but keep access to all else in the directory.

how to do this in rights?  Are we stuff recreating the group in another group menbership folder, that simple doesn't contain those two databases?

Any help vry much appreciated!

RE: Limit rights to specific DataBases on a directory

You would want to use an Inherited Rights Filer on the two database files you do not want the users to access.
