FrontPage 2003 Upgrade - HELP!

FrontPage 2003 Upgrade - HELP!

FrontPage 2003 Upgrade - HELP!

(OP)
I have a purchased copy of FrontPage 2003 Upgrade (actually, I have 2), which I first used with Office 97 Premium, then Office 2000 Premium. I just got a new computer with Windows 7, and need to install it. I now have Office 2003 and Office 2007 (still prefer 2003), but of course I need an older version to install the FP upgrade. I dragged out my Office 2000 Premium box (boldly marked "Keep! For upgrade to FrontPage 2003" and see that for some reason, I only have Disc 3 and Disc 4 of Office2000. That's confusing, as the box says it's a 2 CD set, but I don't seem to find Disc 1 or Disc 2 (of course I've not used it for close to 10 years!). I'm certain I threw out my old Office 97 CDs. My package of Office 2000 has a CD Key on the back, but FrontPage's install doesn't give me a chance to enter it, it only wants to read the CD, and neither CD 3 or 4 works. I also have an Office 2000 Premium SR-1 patch CD, but of course it doesn't work either.

The help file FP suggests reading mentions about using the Product Key from a full version of Office, but I can't find a way to enter it.

I've looked at Espression Web, and feel in my case it would be a step down. I'm not a web developer, but I have a web site with about 250 pages that I need to just maintain, and FP has done a great job with that.

I have FP installed on an old XP computer no longer being used; is there some way to move the license from it? Any suggestions, outside of buying a new FP 2003 (ridiculous prices out there now) or Office 2000, just to be able to use the upgrade?

Thanks in advance!  winky smile

RE: FrontPage 2003 Upgrade - HELP!

Just install it and type in the licence code.  Do this on weekdays between 0900 and 2000.  If it complains that the code is already registered, call up MS and say that you are transferring the licence.  They're quite helpful and tell you what to do to get a new licence.

Make sure your machine is switched on and you have a pen and paper (just in case).

Thanks, but the only license code I get to type in is the Product Key for the FrontPage 2003 Upgrade, and it takes that fine. But since it IS an Upgrade, and since it can't find an installed version of Office 2000, it asks for me to insert an Office 2000 CD. And I have Discs 3 & 4, but apparently not 1 & 2. It does not give me an opportunity to type in the Office CD Key.

As to contacting MS, I've only found where I can purchase a $99 support ticket, as support for FrontPage is no longer available. Is there another place to call about the license?
