SP-REG-M alarm

SP-REG-M alarm

SP-REG-M alarm

CM 5.2.1 with 2 processors in a Main/LSP configuration.

my main processor shows

Quote (SAT - Disp Alarms):

display alarms

                                 ALARM REPORT

Port      Mtce      On   Alt          Alarm   Svc   Ack? Date        Date
Name      Brd? Name         Type    State 1 2  Alarmed     Resolved

          SP-REG-M  n                 MINOR         y    03/09/10:56 00/00/00:00

which indicates that theMain processor and LSP missed a defined number of keep-alive messages.  The docs suggest that I should see an alarm on the LSP (SP-REG-S I'd guess) but I don't.

The other cause suggested is a badly configured LSP entry

Quote (SAT - List Surv):

list survivable-processor

                             SURVIVABLE PROCESSORS
Name            Type      IP Address     Reg Act         Translations     Net
                                                          Updated          Rgn

 XXXXXXXX        LSP       XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX    y   n          22:00 3/13/2011   2

The Node name is correct, the IP address is correct and the network region is correct.  The LSP is registered and inactive.

the only relevant change (which has been reversed) was to alter

Quote (change surv XXXXXXX):

display survivable-processor XXXXXXX                           Page   2 of   3
Service    Enabled Store   Local             Local    Remote            Remote
Type              to dsk  Node              Port     Node              Port
  CDR1        i       n     procr             0        logger            9000
enabled from i to n

Any idea on how to clear it?

Take Care

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.
