Mapper on a PC

Mapper on a PC

Mapper on a PC

Back in the 70's I did some work in Mapper on a 1100 and really enjoyed it.  Now retired, I would like to get a copy to run on a PC under windows.  Currently have XP pro on a laptop and on a slower desktop, XP home.

Where can I get a copy???

RE: Mapper on a PC

Buy it from Unisys. I've tried it on NT, 2000 and XP and it runs fine. The last time we bought, it was called Unisys e-@ction Business Information Server, which is quite a mouthful.

RE: Mapper on a PC

It would be a lot easier to buy MAPPER/BIS from a reseller than from Unisys themselves.  They are only geared up to work with large customers.  A couple resellers are:

IT-RS.NET (Previously CIBER)
Cleopatra Systems (UK)

RE: Mapper on a PC

Thanks Jerry!

Minor quibble- it's Cleopatra Consultants Ltd (UK).

(There's a good reason - the founders are Marc and Anthony :)

Perhaps we should have gone with Cleopatra Systems.

RE: Mapper on a PC

New question:  My company runs Mapper 10.1.E6 on Windows XP on all the PC's.  Our server is Windows 2000.  Wondering if we buy a new laptop that has Windows 7 Pro, will this or any version of Mapper work on Windows 7 Pro?

RE: Mapper on a PC

I can tell you from from experience that 10.1 will load on XP and 11.1 will also load on XP as well as Windows-7 Pro. I believe that 10.1 will also load on Windows-7 Pro.
