I am sending the details of IBM server. Please suggest tape drive
Server = IBM xSeries 346  Part No. = MT-M 8840-21A S/N = 99TPZD7

Current Tape Drive is compatible with DDS4 20/40 GB Tape. We require the tape drive which is capable to take backup up to 500 GB. some  one suggested following

3580L3E    IBM TS2230 Tape Drive- Ultrium 3 SCSI Drive (Ships with Rack Mount Kit)    01
    IBM 4.5M VHDCI/HD68 SCSI Cable    01
    IBM 2.8M Power Cord 250V India    01
    IBM Rack to PDU Line Cord    01
43W4324    IBM Ultra 320 SCSI PCI e Controller    01

problem is  that  some people saying ultra 320 card not require and some one saying required.  please  tell me scis  card  required or not.

RE: whether SCSI Card require IBMX346 server.

   The scsi card is not required, as there is an external scsi connector on the rear of the server, as long as you get the correct cable it should work.
