RE: how to read a continuously updable file

Hi

See the file.tell() and file.seek() methods :

CODE

def readnext(filename,lastseen=0):
  with open(filename) as fil:
    fil.seek(lastseen)

    for line in fil:
      print line.rstrip()

    return fil.tell()
Then store the position in a variable and pass it back when calling the next time : last=readnext('whatever',last) .

( This implementation is just a generic example. Rewrite it to fit your context. )
