any one know a way to do a factory default on this model of phone if the admin PW is not known?  I have an issue with a box of e340 aka avaya 3616 phones that some yahoo set a admin  PW on and no one knows who or to what and I would like to make these all workable again.

RE: Netlink E340 factory reset

Pure guess, but can you unplug them from any phone wires and power and see if after a day or two they will auto-reset?  Yes of course they might have a small amount of non-volatile (sp) memory

Well not a bad guess however they sat in boxes for who knows how long with out batteries in them.  Thank you though for the suggestion.

RE: Netlink E340 factory reset

One other shot in the dark (by now you must of figured that I really know nothing about these phones <smile>) look for a small reset button, maybe under where the batteries would go, maybe even a small hole where the end of a bent paperclip can be pressed into.

Hope someone who really has a simple answer reads this soon, laugh out loud at my suggestions, and says something like all you have to do is plug it in a press # 3 times, or some such special code.  But until then my hair brained ideas are all you are getting.

BTW here are some docs I found via google that may give some clues:
