Dear members
Please i try to configure Solaris 9 to run FTP, but the message "530 Login incorect" appair.

modify following files
/etc/ftpusers
/etc/ftpaccess
"add guestuser ftpguest"
/etc/indet.conf
/etc/service
/etc/shells

add newuser without adminrights
Account: ftpuser
ftpguest:x:100:1:Guest FTP:/export/home/ftpguest:/bin/true

ftpmessage
220 NetraX1 FTP server ready.
Benutzer (193.167.10.100:(none)): ftpguest
331 Password required for ftpguest.
Kennwort:xxxxxx
530 Login incorrect.
Anmeldung fehlgeschlagen.
ftp>

If the user exists in /etc/ftpd/ftpusers, that user is not allowed to connect using ftp. Check the man page of ftpusers. If you do want to enable ftp for root, remove root from /etc/ftpd/ftpusers.
