20ft. USB A/B Cable For Windows XP SP3 Printer?

Hello;J&R.com sell's a 20-Foot High-Speed A Male to B Male USB 2.0 Cable. Will this length 20ft. work ok with Windows XP Pro Sp3 for a printer.? Just asking because I thought 16ft. was the max.for USB.I was told that by someone, but I could really use this 20ft.one for the added length.Thankyou for any info.

http://www.usb.org/about/faq/ans5  5m is the max cable length. If you need more distance, put a hub in the mix somewhere.

Or use a USB Active Repeater cable like this:- http://www.lindy.co.uk/5m-usb-2-slimline-active-extension-cable/42817.html

I've used one similar to this to good effect together with a basic 6m USB cable to use with a Vodafone mobile Internet device.

But as RClark says, throw in a self powered hub, and you'll get a greater distance.
