Autocad to Illustrator maintaining editable text

Autocad to Illustrator maintaining editable text

(OP)
Hey all,

I'm having a huge problem maintaining editable text when converting floor plans with room names and dimensions from AutoCAD (2010) to PDF and/or EPS files, then opening them up in Illustrator. The graphic designers I work with need this text to be editable in Illustrator so they can change it to their own specialized text and edit the size of the text, but both PDFs and EPS files are not proving to have editable text once transferred into Illustrator.
The text and dimensions are already on a seperate layer in AutoCAD, but are still not editable once it's put in Illustrator! Help!!

Allison
