SNMP question relating to INFOVISTA product

SNMP question relating to INFOVISTA product

SNMP question relating to INFOVISTA product

(OP)
I have a need to direct Link UP and DOWN traps from Cisco network routers and switches to a vendor management station without providing them with RW string to my devices. I am ready to provide the RO string.

Will Fault Management work in INFOVISTA? The vendor tells me they absolutely need the RW string for the product to work. I do not believe that is a true statement.

Does anyone have experience with this product and can share the technical aspects for this need.
thanks.
D.

RE: SNMP question relating to INFOVISTA product

No knowledge of InfoVista but traps do not need to be RW. I would ask the vendor for more information.

Bill
