I recently set up a web site for a friend of mine using PHP.  The friend also has a WordPress blog (out on WordPress.org) which was set up by somebody else.  She has lately told me she would like to have a 'snapshot' of her blog appear on the home page of her new web site.  I have been searching for information on the various widgets and other tools that are available, but it is very slow going.  All I really need is to show a bit of the more recent postings.  Any pointers you can give me?  (The KISS principle definitely applies here.)

solution 1:
migrate the blog from wp.org to your own domain.

solution 2:
google for javascript rss widget and choose any of those that appear to pull the rss down from the wp.org blog

solution 3:
do the above (soln 2) using a php rss reader (just google the terms - there are loads available).

the fact that i have provided only three solutions should not be taken to imply that this is the universe of solutions.  there are loads and loads of ways to skin that cat.
