Problem with Livetrace/paint PNG File

Problem with Livetrace/paint PNG File

Problem with Livetrace/paint PNG File

(OP)
Hi Folks,

I'm more of a Photoshop type person but for a logo I'm designing having a vector version makes sense. Some of the source images are PNGs though so I've converted them to vectors using Livetrace then convert to Live Paint.

Problem is the white background was included and all I need is the foreground elements. The images are very clean and simple, how can I remove the background shape from the forground?

Thanks

Kat

RE: Problem with Livetrace/paint PNG File

...ensure you have "ignore white" turned on in the live trace settings, its a check box option at the bottom of the settings dialog. If you don't see it there then your version of illustrator is older than CS3...

...so if your on CS2 you will have to manually remove white parts you don't want by using, "select > same > fill" or "select > same > stroke" options and hit delete...
