Deleting B/O status PO on Mas90 4.1

Deleting B/O status PO on Mas90 4.1

Deleting B/O status PO on Mas90 4.1

(OP)
OH MY!  What a mess I have to clean up.   I am trying to delete very old PO's with a back order status.   I am on Mas90 4.1.

Also, can anyone tell me which index I need to reinitialize to release inventory?   I am trying to delete an item and it tells me that I cannot delete when Physical count is in process; I have unfroze all my items and for all warehouses.

Any help with either question will be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Thank you.

BTW:  This website has been amazing and has helped me out many times before.

RE: Deleting B/O status PO on Mas90 4.1

1. You should be posting on community.sagemas.com
2. Your post does not make sense. You start off talking about old purchase orders then you want to release inventory and next you want to delete an item. Almost every topic you bring up should be done with the assistance of your reseller as the consequences could be dire.

Thank you Big Louie,  I do see where it was confusing.

1. I will look into community.sagemas.com
2. My reseller is not worth the money that he is paid.  Everytime I have needed assistance, you or someone else from this website has helped me when they didn't.

Thank you again.

RE: Deleting B/O status PO on Mas90 4.1

Moonechild,

The community BL refers to is very helpful. I do recommend you create an account on there.

Second, if you have a "bad" reseller, do you know that you can get a new one?  A reseller is supposed to be a trusted advisor just like a CPA or attorney.  If your CPA were not providing you with the right advise to do your taxes, you would hire a new one.  You have a couple of options. You can call Sage at 800-854-3415 and have them recommend a new one in your area.  Second, you can look on the community and find a reseller that might not be in your area who provides good advice and take them on.  This does not have to be on a "pre-pay contract".  I work for a reseller myself and we have several clients not in our state who I have not met in person and we provide support to them on an as-needed basis remotely.  We have helped with upgrades, Crystal Reports, and day to day questions.  Sometimes remote support makes sense.  Other times people want someone live in front of them. It is all about what makes you comfortable and what helps your business run the best.  (If you go to the community, you will see me on their as DFeller and BigLouie is on there as well.)

Regarding the issues you brought up:

(1) Purchase orders - you can use the "purge obsolete purchase orders" utility in the period end menu to get rid of a lot of old stuff.  Sage also has on their KB other ways to get rid of old POs.

(2) Inventory - you may have records stuck in the physical count file and need to reinitialize the IME file.

I hope that helps!
