Attendant Console Woes

Attendant Console Woes

Attendant Console Woes

(OP)
Hello, I'm a bit new to these systems which makes it all the more frustrating that I'm the only person in charge of taking care of one.  I work for a traveling circus and we've got a Definity system that's about three years old and an AUDIX system we added a year ago.  For some reason our 302C attendant console won't send calls to the different call appearance buttons anymore, if the receptionist is on a call and another comes in it just beeps until she either disconnects or transfers the first caller.  It's really quite annoying and I have no idea what could be causing it.  Any suggestions?

RE: Attendant Console Woes

Well,

This is the way it is supposed to work, your receptionist should ask the person she is talking to too please hang on, put him on hold. On a different call appearance answer the following cal, tell that person too please hold, go back to the innitial call appearence finish the conversation, and then go back to the call on hold.

She can do this untill all call apperances (6)are occupied.

Hope this helps.

Ah, yes I see.  Thanks very much.  I feel a bit silly now.  Well I guess I have a few other questions though like, if the main attendant console is in night mode and all the night calls are bieng routed to AUDIX, why do some calls still ring the console?

RE: Attendant Console Woes

This is because people are calling the operators extn number this will always ring at the console whether it is in position busy or not. You may want to check to see if you have an extn 0 with a cov path to the attendant. Or look at the dial plan at the digit 0 this will give you a place to start.
