AS400 Directory Shadow System

AS400 Directory Shadow System

AS400 Directory Shadow System

Happy New Year. I've been involved with the AS400, iSeries, i systems for a very long time. I've checked IBM's website and the web for the answer.

What is a directory shadow system?

We received an error that directory shadowing ended abnormally; CPF90F5. It display reason code 5 which is

"APPC error detected for device *N.  The ICF return code is"

There is nothing in the ICF return code.

There are several commands to work with directory shadowing. What I can't find is an explanation as to what it is and what it does?

Thank you for any help you can provide.
