Eudora 7.x & Vista - and Migrating

A few questions while waiting to install Vista - and Eudora - on a new computer.
1) Is there any need or reason to switch from Eudora to Thunderird?
2) If I can stick with Eudora 7.x, can I simply copy all files and subdirectories in my \Eudora directory - so as to keep settings, etc?
3) Anything else I should know?
Many thanks for whatever input and advice you can provide!

RE: Eudora 7.x & Vista - and Migrating

PS Sorry, neglected to mention I'll be running Vista64. Thanks again!
