Can't ping certain machines through Cisco VPN 1

Hello.

Hopefully someone might be able to spot something for me here... I am somewhat flummoxed.

We have a large amount of Dell Precision 690's that are all on the same ghosted build. We VPN into our network using Cisco VPN Client V4.8. We can't ping any of the 690's that have this particular build. We can ping alright from the network, but not when connected in through VPN. We can ping other machines on the network that have an older build. I have cross-checked the installed software between the new build and the old build.. and other than Windows updates, I see anything that might be causing the problem... the machines are in various places around the office and so would be using different switches. Does anyone have any suggestions..? Here is the installed software anyway:

this is shot in the dark here, but perhaps before you guys did your image build for the older boxes you had the windows firewall either turned off or tweaked to allow ICMP traffic only from machines on the same subnet?? maybe your new build is different?? can the boxes with the new build ping machines connected to the VPN??

I hate all Uppercase... I don't want my groups to seem angry at me all the time! =)

Hi, thanks for the replies... we actually tracked down the problem to VMWare Player. The VMWare Network Adapters that were in the image didn't seem to like this particular machine hardware build. I remotely uninstalled VMWare player (we don't actually need it due to ESX implementation), and now all is good!

I have VMWare Player installed via a build on my machine (T7400), and no problems.. so, took a while to figure it out!
