Multiple Artboards Not Being Created In Designated number of Columns

Multiple Artboards Not Being Created In Designated number of Columns

(OP)
Hi,
Simple problem here. When I create multiple art boards and choose an option of say 6 columns and a largeish number of boards, say 30, the file opens up with 9 columns! The first has the number of boards I imagined it would have.. the rest, it starts to drop down to fewer boards in a column and then less again! Why?!

RE: Multiple Artboards Not Being Created In Designated number of Columns

...indeed, illustrator is a bit buggy in this department, it defaults to 7 columns, doesn't appear to be any way around it, unless you switch to column mode and use 5 instead...
