Sidekick 2.0 Alarm Will NOT Under XP

When I set the alarm on for an APP item, it shows that the alarm is set; but it does not actually "alarm" as expected?

If I attempt to "PLAY" the alarm as a test, no sound is made except for the selected drop down alarm: "SYSTEM BEEP". All other alarms produce no sound when tested?
