Help with a Till app
Help with a Till app
(OP)
Hi,
I'm nto sure if this is the right area to post this so apologies if its not. What im wanting is to create some sort of till app that basically has a front form with buttons 1-9&0. When a users clicks on a number it will call up a item that is stored in access DB or whatever you think is best. This item will already has a value associated with it so the user will be present with a box alongside the item that says "Qty" and allow the user to input an amount and get a total..
Now i thinking this is relatively straight forward in access or dreamweaver maybe but i don't have the experience to do this. Can anyone please help me with this? I need instructions as to how i can achieve this or if someones feeling overly generous and its not time consuming maybe a mockup that i can edit?
Thanks in advance!

RE: Help with a Till app
2. Decide if this is to be a desktop app or a web app.
3. If web, choose a server-side language you are familiar with (PHP, ASP, Perl), then use w3schools.com to get you started on the appropriate technology.
4. If it's a desktop app, choose a language you're familiar with. I see from your profile that you use VB6, which (amongst many others) will easily provide you with a suitable app.
When you have chosen a particular technology and started with your app, feel free to come back and post in the appropriate forum with any specific problems that you find. This particular forum is specifically for general database questions, rather than specific programming questions. You may need some or all of these forums for web apps:
forum215: HTML, XHTML & CSS (Cascading Style Sheets)
forum333: Microsoft: Active Server Pages (ASP)
forum216: Javascript
Or these for desktop apps
forum222: Visual Basic(Microsoft): Version 5 & 6
forum732: C# (C sharp): Microsoft
