Autopopulate fields/bookmarks in Form Letters

Autopopulate fields/bookmarks in Form Letters

(OP)
I have been a user of Epicor 7.2 for 8 years. Although not a developer, I have a good understanding of the table structure and programming.
I am unclear on how to add new fields via a word template for Epicor to use in auto-populating Form Letters from the Call, Sales Order or RMA tables.
I have one master Word.dot that has the bookmarks created that I copy and use to create new tForm letters; but I am limited to the few initial Bookmarks that were created in a master Word.dot.
  BkCall_Call_Num:
  BkRMAMain_RMA_Num
  BkPerson_PriPhone
  BkCall_Product
  BkOrdPart_Description
  BkCall_SerialNum
  BkOrg_OrgName
  BkPerson_Address1
  BkPerson_Address2

I have tried using the add bookmarks function in the Word.dot, but I do not seem to get it right. What is the protocl and naming convention to adding these Bookmarks in the Word, dot so Epicor ses them?
I apologize if this is a simple question.
Thanks, Matt
